Vacancy: Production manager

Due to our rapidly expanding order book, we are looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to take responsibility for all aspects of our production operations including Machining, Fabrication, Paint, Mechanical and Electrical Assembly and Stores.

As a crucial member of the management team and the leader of our 40 strong production team, you will play a critical role in the ongoing success of the business and ensuring the company and its staff continue to develop in order to meet the future needs of our customers.

Based in Long Eaton, near Nottingham, for over 60 years TecQuipment has manufactured over 400 vastly different products used by universities and colleges all over the world to teach a wide variety of engineering disciplines. As products are largely made to order, the factory is typically building a wide variety of products meaning we have had to develop a flexible production model. Overview

  • Location: Long Eaton, Nottingham
  • Department: Production
  • Hours: Hours: 37 hours per week – 8.00am to 4.30pm Mon–Thurs (30 mins lunch), 8.00am to 13.00pm Fri (no lunchbreak)
  • Rate of pay: £50,000 - £60,000 dependant on experience
  • Contract: Pension, life assurance, generous holiday entitlement, tax-free performance related bonus

Essential

  • 5 years working in a production management role within an SME
  • Proven technical and leadership skills and the drive for further career progression
  • Experience of managing complex and diverse operations
  • Good practical knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and the proven ability to introduce change and process improvement
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Ability to keep objectives in sight and whilst finding solutions to the day-to-day challenges of a complex operation
  • Willingness to lead from the front and get your hands dirty when it will make a difference

Desired

  • Engineering qualification
  • Experience with SAP Business 1 ERP
  • NEBOSH qualified
