Press Release: TecQuipment Launches the Flow Visualisation Channel

14th May, 2019 – Nottingham, UK – TecQuipment, leading provider of high quality educational equipment for engineering disciplines has today launched a new fluid mechanics teaching product, the Flow Visualisation Channel (FC15). This is a compact entry-level product for visualising flow patterns around weirs and other objects in an open channel.

This apparatus is perfect for introducing students to the concept of flow by capturing their interest with a high-impact, visual sensory experience to illustrate fluid phenomenon such as hydraulic jump and patterns of flow around an aerofoil at varying angles of attack. The 15mm wide flow channel comes with cylinders, weirs and hydrofoils, and utilises six-point dye injection to create impressive streamlines. The apparatus can also demonstrate flow transition, gravity currents and standing waves, along with other experiments using ice.

The Flow Visualisation Channel is suitable for teaching flow principles for civil engineering, the built environment, aerospace and hydrology.

“The Flow Visualisation Channel has been introduced in response to global market demand for a fluid flow teaching product that is small and very affordable.” Commented TecQuipment’s Sales and Marketing Director Jon Chicken. The Flow Visualisation apparatus is part of the Flow and Pressure Measurement sub range within the Fluid Mechanics range from TecQuipment.
