Vacancy: Fabricator Welder

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Fabricator Welder to join our busy and highly motivated team on a permanent contract, within our Covid secure working environment.

The work is varied, interesting and demanding and we expect high standards for quality and performance. With a good level of experience in a fabrication environment you will be expected to manufacture light/medium duty frames made from mild steel tubular sections to a high standard. You will join our manufacturing department, ensuring that quality standards are met on all components, by following company processes, and procedures. Our products are designed to support the teaching of engineering principles, and all the finished work is visible to the end customers. We pride ourselves on delivering an excellent quality of finish and it is therefore imperative that you have great attention to detail and work to an exceptionally neat standard.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Sawing, drilling and preparing tubular section ready for welding
  • MIG welding frameworks (following details on manufacturing drawings)
  • Grinding and fettling fabrications to required finish using hand and power tools to a high standard


  • Location: Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, 7.00am – 3.30pm. Monday-Thursday (1/2 hour for lunch), 7.00am – 12.00pm Friday (no lunch break)
  • Benefits: £24,000 - £26,000 dependant on experience, pension, life assurance, generous holiday entitlement, clean working environment with free parking



    • Experience of manufacturing MIG welded light/medium duty mild steel frameworks
    • Understanding technical drawings (first angle)
    • Grinding and fettling of fabrications to required finish using hand and power tools to a high standard
    • Proven background in fabrication and welding, preferably having served a recognised apprenticeship or gained an equivalent qualification


  • Experience of TIG welding sheet-metal work and working with Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium
  • Using press brakes to fold thin gauge sheet metal components
